Meet Matty.
Not every dog walks into a shelter and says, "I've got this."
Some, like Matty, need a little time.
Matty is a young dog whose world has been turned upside down. The shelter is a busy, unfamiliar place, and he's still trying to figure out where he fits in. Right now, he's finding that adjustment difficult, and that's okay.
Fear isn't who Matty is.
It's simply how he's feeling today.
What gives us hope is seeing the little moments. The quiet curiosity. The small steps forward. The signs that, with patience and understanding, there's a wonderful dog waiting to emerge.
Matty is dog friendly and would likely benefit from a calm, confident canine companion who can help show him that the world isn't such a scary place.
More than anything, Matty is looking for someone willing to let him move at his own pace.
Someone who understands that trust can't be rushed.
Someone who knows that the most rewarding relationships are often the ones that take a little time to build.
One day, the shelter will just be a chapter in Matty's story.
We're hoping the next chapter begins with a family that's willing to believe in him before he fully believes in himself.
