Nail care spotlight! 💅🏼

When's the last time your dog had a nail trim? Nails that grow too long can curl into the pad and cause real pain, and dogs are great at hiding it.

We recommend trims about every two weeks. Our Paw-dicure includes a nail trim and Dremel smoothing, and our mobile service comes to you.

Give us a call to get scheduled! 📲 (208) 714-8736

Meet KoKo! 🐾 She just graduated from our Advanced Obedience Hybrid+ program, and her progress is something to celebrate.

When KoKo started, the world felt like a scary place. She struggled with early signs of reactivity and fear, and every new sight, sound, and dog was a lot to take in. With structure, patience, and consistent training, she’s learned to navigate it with more confidence and focus.

Fear and reactivity don’t mean a dog can’t change. They mean she needed someone to help her understand the world. Congratulations, KoKo, and to her family for trusting the process! 💙

If your dog is struggling with fear or reactivity, we can help. Message us or fill out the form on our website, arkfoundationpnw.org/training, to learn more about our programs!

🐾 When ARK K9 has a staff meeting, things get a little wild. 🐾

Yesterday's agenda: rope swinging into the river, plenty of pups, and a surprise haircut. Dena got a fresh trim courtesy of Dakota (our grooming skills clearly go beyond the dogs ✂️).

Shoutout to the whole crew, Dena, Dakota, Tessa, and Natasha, and our four-legged teammates Honey, Indie, Keenai, Rusty, Domino, and Mishka, who definitely did their part (mostly by splashing).

The people behind ARK K9 work hard, laugh harder, and love every dog that comes through our doors. This is the team caring for your pup. 💙

Happy Monday and welcome to this week's K9 Corner! Today's K9 Corner Topic: Why recall is the most important command your dog can learn.

A dog who comes when called has more freedom and stays safer. That matters on the trail, at the park, or when the front door gets left open.

Reliable recall is built in stages: start in a low-distraction space, add distance, then add real-world distractions, all while staying consistent with the same cue and expectation.

A few common mistakes we see:
❌ Only calling your dog when the fun is ending
❌ Repeating the command over and over
❌ Using "come" only when your dog is in trouble

Pro Tip: Make coming back the best thing that happens all day!

Recall is a core part of our Basic and Advanced Obedience programs, and it's the foundation of our off-leash work. Whether you're starting from scratch or building toward off-leash freedom, we'd love to help.

💎 LOUIE'S SUCCESS STORY 💎

Before ARK K9, Louie struggled. Everyday outings were a challenge, and he had multiple bites on his record. His owner wasn't sure things could change.

After 2 weeks in our Board & Train program, Louie is a different dog. He is calm, confident, and finally able to enjoy the everyday moments with his family that once felt out of reach.

Hear about Louie's experience straight from his owner. 🎥👇

This is exactly why we do what we do. Real structure. Real communication. Real results.

Ready to see what's possible for your dog? Call or text us at (208) 714-8736 to book an assessment, or visit our website at www.arkfoundationpnw.com/training.

Happy Monday and welcome to another K9 Corner! Today’s topic: Grooming is about more than your pup looking cute (although that is a plus).

There's a lot more happening at a grooming appointment than a trim and a bath. From catching early skin issues to preventing painful matting, regular grooming is a real part of keeping your dog healthy and comfortable, not just looking good.

Swipe through to see what we're actually checking for and why it matters 👉

Not sure what grooming schedule is right for your dog? We're happy to help you figure it out! Just visit our website or give us a call! www.arkfoundationpnw.org/grooming or call (208) 714-8736.

Every dog that comes through our doors is different. Some need a little extra patience and support to feel comfortable, and some are total pros. No matter what, they all get treated with the same love and care. That's the ARK K9 way 💙
