Miss Reagan has come into season, right on time.
Unfortunately I’ve been unable to finalize arrangements with the owner of the stud dog I had been hoping to work with and I’m now faced with the decision to go back to the drawing board for breeding next Spring or follow the backup plan.

You saw me gushing about the Clouds litter for their second birthday last week. Yeager and Reagan‘s pairing produced some of the best temperaments I’ve ever seen along with beautiful structure and movement. I’ve had the idea in the back of my mind to repeat the breeding and perhaps this is a sign. For that reason I’m inclined to move forward except I’m looking for a few more firm commitments. Is this a pairing you want to see again? Puppies would come the first week of September and go home before Thanksgiving.

It seems Buster’s injury is still bugging him because he’s not moving well and doesn’t always have his tail up, a sure sign that something isn’t right. I’m hoping he can squeeze in with a therapist for help before his next show. We still managed to enjoy our time away this weekend by taking advantage of cool morning walks and evening bucket baths before bed.

We met a new poodle friend at the local dog park. Beauty is 5 years old and needing a new home before her people relocate to Australia in November. The travel and quarantine time are more than they are willing to ask of her so please reach out for more details. She’s an absolute love! Great training foundation, affectionate and cuddly, spayed and in good health, higher energy, not safe for small animals. She’s in southern Oregon but transportation help is available. She will thrive with an active family. I’ll get pics soon.

Cruise snuggled up in the wagon and informed me he was done with grooming for the time. 😂

No points for him this weekend but I’m pleased with how well he showed and look forward to taking him out again. His next show will be in Hillsboro, OR 6/20 and 6/21, where he’s the only male standard poodle entered those days. I’m disappointed not to have competition but he will enjoy hanging out with his lady friends.

For those who don’t know, the AKC point schedule requires 2 class males to earn 1 point. This means Cruise gets nothing for being Winners Dog as the only competitor. He will have to beat the best female for what we call a “crossover” point.

The boys would like to ask why are we here and how long are we staying and who packed the snacks? I made a rookie mistake and allowed them to get too close to a flowering bush so naturally their freshly combed out coats are now filled with tiny flower petals. Cruise showed really well today and had nice competition. Both boys also got their health testing completed. Here’s hoping tomorrow is a dry day.

I’ve been celebrating him all week in advance of his 2nd birthday tomorrow because there’s so much to love about this beautiful creature. He has a wonderful temperament, cuddles hard, is protective and affectionate. He loves grooming and is always willing to try anything. Buster’s health testing will be completed Saturday, after which he’s available to the right poodles. Full details will be shared with his CHIC certificate and he’s already on Better Bred.
