Wyatt got his Christmas wish! Two new legs 🥰 My little hero has been the bravest boy ❤️ For months, Wyatt has had torn cranial cruciate ligaments in both legs kept him from running, playing, and being his joyful self. It was time for a change! 🐶
Yesterday, at work, he underwent a complex TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery on both legs performed by one of my incredible doctors, Dr. Merrill! 🐾
A Peek Behind Surgery Day! 🐶
• Safety First: A week prior to surgery, bloodwork and X-rays performed, confirmed he was ready for the big day!
• Sterile Prep: Yesterday morning we arrived; he had a full back-end shave and a 15-minute scrub-down with chlorhexidine to create the safest environment!
• Anesthesia: IV fluids (packed with pain meds!), constant monitoring of his vitals (ECG, SpO2, temp.BP), and heat support ensured he was safe and snug throughout the procedure. 🎄
My doctor expertly tackled both legs. The right, which tore in April, required extra skill due to scar tissue, but the left was done in a blink! Post-op X-rays showed perfect results! 🎉
I sat with him during his entire recovery, he knew Mama was right there. He is an absolute trooper! Today is all about cozy blankets and healing. Here’s to a smooth recovery and getting our zoomie boy back!
