Oregon Humane Society is the largest animal welfare organization in the Northwest, with campuses in Salem and Portland, including a Community Veterinary Hospital. OHS offers a wide variety of services from pet adoption, training, humane law enforcement, veterinary care, humane education, and disaster response. OHS puts no time limits on how long animals remain at the shelter—a pet stays available

for adoption as long as needed to find a loving home. If a pet in our care needs medical attention, the medical team provides that pet with the same level of care you would want your own pet to receive.

When a worried community member caught a glimpse of unkempt Maisie, they alerted Oregon Humane Society’s Humane Law Enforcement team, who rushed to investigate.

This person loved their animal but no longer had the physical or financial ability to provide for her. She made the choice to surrender Maisie to OHS.

Maisie was immediately helped by staff, her tough matted shell was shaved, medical needs assessed, fed, and a place to recover.

Today, Maisie has been adopted and has new, soft fur growing in. Help more animals like her - bit.ly/MaisieTheDog
