With so many questions I thought I would post this permanent. Yes, these are bobcats, and they've lived on the property since we purchased it four years ago. They did live in a den on the hillside right below the outdoor arena at midline, and when we took away the blackberries, they moved over to the corner towards the oak tree, and I believe they are somewhere over there now. We've seen them every few months every year typically, around spring and fall when the babies are out learning. I have pictures but have never caught a full video. It's hard to say, but I believe these are juveniles, possibly one of them is the mom. The next morning, I saw her most recent kitten, smaller than my cat, a pure puff ball π»
Even though we live so close to housing developments, we are still on the edge of the country. Literally, my property line, is the corner of Multlnomah/Washington County. Here's a list of wildlife we see regularly - a very large elk heard which unfortunately is why I was down there fixing fence, more deer than I have seen in past years, an obnoxious amount of coyotes who are even brave to stop by the property with the dogs around in daylight. When we bought the property there were 5 dens on our property alone. Now I think only 3, one moved over the creek and there's still one next door. We had a small juvenile blackbear when we moved in and I believe there is still one on the property which I have spotted on the other side of the creek one other time but the bear s**t is still found over there. We have beavers, though, we haven't seen them much, they make themselves well known. We do also have super cute bunnies often seen, pesky chipmunks/ squirrel, and then raccoon, skunk and possum less seen. We have beautiful white cranes and huge blue heron, red tailed hawks, barn owls, a flock of white doves and grey, huge woodpeckers, sometimes bald eagles, and the creek and ponds are stocked with woodland duck and canadian geese. We are quite lucky with the beauty that surrounds us, that I get to call this home and my work is really just a passion.
