Let’s take it back to the beginning:

CLASSICAL CONDITIONING
Classical conditioning is the learning of emotional & reflexive responses through the formation of mental associations between environmental stimuli.
Russian Scientists IVAN PAVLO, the one who discovered CLASSICAL CONDITIONING, taught dogs to salivate in response to the ringing of the bell. First, he rang the bell and then & presented the dogs with food. After a number of times the dog formed a mental association between the sound of the bell & food so when the bell rang the dog would salivate.
The “YES” command is an example of classical conditioning. The word “YES” is associated the our 3 T’s of our reward systems. TREAT, TOUCH or TOYS.

OPERANT CONDITIONING
Involves the dog learning that there is a relationship between its OWN behaviors & some stimulus, such as the act of sitting and the dog getting praised from the HANDLER. Operant Conditioning affects mainly what are called skeletal responses: behaviors like sitting , running, standing, and biting that are under the dogs voluntarily control. During operation conditioning, the dog makes the “CHOICE “ to perform a behavior.

Positive Reinforcement : Give the Ball
Negative Reinforcement : Withhold Correction
Positive Punishment : Give Correction
Negative Punishment : Withhold Ball

Today at The Subaru Loves Pets, Adoption Day hosted by Castle Subaru of Portage , HANDLER RACHEL has decided to Finally Retire her Canine Companion RAVEN with that, today was her last bite. They will still train but now in a different field together. We All thank you so much Rachel for allowing us to be part of such an emotional and exciting last dance. We Thank you for allowing us to be in your life for the past two decades. Rachael & Raven you are a strong team together. Help us celebrate Ravens Retirement.
