Hey!! I wanted to share an update for those who plan to book with me in the future!
Due to the current economy, I did decide to take on a job outside of this business, so I am now working as kennel staff with Countryside. I am super thrilled with this position as it unlocks a ton of clinical experience and will only continue to make me more qualified for different situations! This does however mean that for future pet sitting I will be working a typical work day as well, this isn’t always a problem as most owners leave their pets home during their work hours, but if you aren’t comfortable with this I do want to be transparent about it.
For anyone who would like my undivided attention during their bookings, please feel free to contact me well in advance and I can try to arrange my schedule to accommodate for you! I do try to have top priority to those clients that I have already worked with and I know may expect to book with me during specific dates.
I always want what is best for your pets though! So, I will always understand if this causes you to be more hesitant, and I am happy to offer references to other options! Part of why many people have entrusted me with their pets is my ability to say no and be transparent when I know it’s not the best choice. I think burn out is a huge reason so many pet care businesses can fail or lead to neglect, and I will always strive to provide myself at 100% for my clients even if that means I need to send you to a better option at that time.
On the note of updates as well, I am currently enrolled back into an online college program to study some more animal behavior/training techniques! This doesn’t effect my sitting at all since it’s easy to bring my laptop and hang out with your pets while I do school work, but it will advance my comfort with offering other services such as training in the future! I love to learn and branch out, so I will probably always be looking for new opportunities to grow my knowledge and experiences.
Looking forward a few years; My intention is to open up to boarding, begin offering training, and be able to rely solely on the income of this business and make it my full time career. Until then, I hope to continue to offer the best quality of service I can to those it is currently suitable to!
