Michele Harvey does not do health checks on her puppies. She will tell you she does- but she’s lying.

It’s simple- ask Michele if she does the following tests.

A reputable breeder does proper testing such as:
✅ OFA (hips/elbows)
✅ CERF (eyes)
✅ DCM (heart)
✅ BAER (hearing)
✅ Full genetic panels

Michele Harvey does none of that. She continues breeding even after knowing how many of her dogs are suffering.

Someone who was interested in buying a husky from Michele Harvey found my page and reached out to me. She forwarded this email conversation between her and Michele.

When she asked about genetic health testing — which any reputable breeder should be doing — Michele’s only response was:
👉 “Good luck.”

Why? Because she doesn’t do the testing, and she doesn’t want to admit it.

Michele loves to say she does “health checks.” But here’s the truth:
➡️ “Health checks” are not genetic testing.
➡️ Her vet simply looks over the puppies after they’re born, listens to their hearts, checks their eyes and ears, and gives shots.

That does not show if the puppy is genetically healthy. A vet can’t tell by looking at a puppy if it will later suffer from:
⚠️ seizures
⚠️ blindness
⚠️ kidney failure
⚠️ or other inherited disorders

Genetic testing is what prevents these tragedies.

A reputable breeder does proper testing such as:

So she CANNOT say she is not spreading serious genetic disorders through her breeding! She is a glorified backyard breeder.

Every follow and share helps us reach more families. I’ve already connected with countless people who have sick or even lost dogs because of her, and many have thanked me for sharing our story. Together, we’ve stopped families from buying her puppies and prevented more heartbreak.

⚠️ A Serious Warning About Michele Harvey (Port Leyden, NY) (Also goes by Michele’s Puppies, Harvey Huskies & Sassy Siberians)

If Michele truly had nothing to hide, why wouldn’t she let us speak with her vet? When our puppy began having health problems, we were desperate for answers—yet every time we reached out, she hung up on us and blocked communication. A legitimate breeder who stands behind their dogs would never keep their vet a secret.

❌ No Health Checks
Michele does not perform health checks on her breeding dogs. This is a huge red flag. Without testing, she has no idea what genetic conditions she is passing down—conditions like epilepsy that have devastated not only our dog’s life, but many others. Yet she continues charging $1,650 per puppy with zero transparency.

❌ Refusal to Provide Papers
Michele also refused to give us our dog’s registration papers. We had to fight with the AKC for nearly two years to get them. Many families report the same issue—being lied to about a dog’s parents or never receiving papers at all.

❌ Ongoing Health Concerns
In addition to seizures, our dog’s testicles never dropped. Surgery is dangerous due to his condition, but leaving them poses other health risks. This is just one more example of the many issues that trace back to Michele’s careless breeding practices.

Michele Harvey is deceiving families, profiting from sick dogs, and operating more like a puppy mill than a responsible breeder. Don’t let her “grandma-like” facade fool you—too many families, including ours, have suffered because of her.

👉 Please, do not risk your money, your time, or your heart. Choose a reputable breeder who is transparent and health-tests their dogs—or better yet, adopt from a shelter where countless healthy, loving dogs are waiting for homes.

I have included her website in the comments- which disgusts us! She is a liar and nothing like she presents herself on there! Dont let the sweet old lady act fool you. Take it from me- she definitely tricked us.

A Cautionary Reminder as the Holidays Approach

This time of year, many families start thinking about bringing home a puppy for Christmas. I want to share our experience as a warning to protect others from heartbreak.

We purchased our puppy from Michele Harvey of Port Leyden, NY (who also goes by Michele’s Puppies or Harvey Huskies). What we didn’t know is that Michele has a long history of selling sick dogs. She does not do health checks on her breeding dogs and continues to pass down serious genetic health issues.

Our puppy began having seizures before 9 months old. The video I’m sharing is the heartbreaking reality we’ve had to face. Our vet confirmed this is genetic, and since then, we’ve found others from the same litter—along with many more families—going through the exact same pain. When you reach out to Michele, she denies any responsibility, pretends it has “never happened before,” then blocks you.

She does not care about the health of the dogs or the families she sells to—only the money.

Please, if you are considering a puppy, do not buy from Michele Harvey. Protect yourself and your loved ones by choosing a reputable breeder who provides health clearances and stands by their dogs. Or better yet, consider adopting from a shelter—there are so many wonderful dogs waiting for a loving home.

Reminder- do not buy a Husky from Michele Harvey of Port Leyden, NY. She is a scammer & is selling very sick dogs! She does not do health checks & continues to breed dogs that have genetic conditions like epilepsy.

I want to share my experience with Michele Harvey, the breeder behind Michele’s Puppies and Harvey Huskies out of Port Leyden, NY. We purchased a Husky from her, and at just 9 months old, our dog started having severe seizures that nearly cost him his life. After extensive research, I've discovered that many other dogs from this breeder have experienced similar issues, including seizures and other serious medical problems. Even more littermates of our dog have had seizures. It’s come to my attention that Michele Harvey has developed a reputation for being an irresponsible and careless breeder, putting profit over the health and well-being of the animals she sells. Please do your research before purchasing from any breeder, and be cautious of anyone associated with Michele’s Puppies/Harvey Huskies. She does not do health checks! Our dog’s health is our top priority, and I want others to avoid the heartbreak we’ve gone through.
