Connor is a cuddly, gentle, little Shih Tzu boy. He is about 2 years old and 11 pounds. Connor came from a home undergoing tragic circumstances. He arrived with a painful, very abnormal, infected right eye, which could not be saved, and was urgently removed surgically (5/2/25). His left eye is normal and has good vision. Connor is healing beautifully and no longer suffering. Each day he becomes brighter and more playful, as his true personality emerges.

Connor is truly a little sweetheart, who is very friendly and just a joy to be with. He loves all the affection and attention he receives. Connor enjoys cuddling in a lap, lots of petting and belly rubs, and playing silly hand games. He is super cute, with a gentle way about him that is very endearing. Connor is a happy, little boy, full of love to share with a new family. If you believe you are a great match for Connor, please put in an application today at shihtzurescue.org. 🇺🇸 This 4th of July, let’s help a veteran who truly needs it

“I hate asking for help,” Ryan says. “But I don’t have much of a choice. It’s not for me — it’s for him.”

Not long ago, we helped veteran Robert get life-saving surgery for his dog Levi — thanks to an incredible outpouring of support from our community.

Now, another veteran needs us.�Ryan’s dog Atticus is suffering from painful injuries in both of his back legs, including torn ligaments and a dislocated kneecap. He’s in constant pain — and without surgery, he may never walk comfortably again.

Ryan has had a very hard time getting the support he needs, but Atticus still shows up for Ryan every single day. A few days ago we spoke to him about his experience, and got Robert to weigh in on things and offer some support.�Now, we have the chance to show up for them.

Let’s do something kind for a veteran this Independence Day.�Donate, share, and help give Ryan and Atticus the second chance they deserve.
