We are so excited to have Dr. Carlson speak to our chapter tonight. Please join us tonight as she guides us through her personal experiences over many years of practice and time in organized vet med. Take note of the places to get information and ways to continue to learn and grow.

As we celebrate the groundbreaking women who have made significant contributions to the veterinary profession and helped save the lives of animals and people during , today we remember Dr. René Carlson.

Dr. Carlson served two terms as AVMA vice president (2004-2006) before her election as the third woman to serve as president of the AVMA in 2011. She served as president of the World Veterinary Association from 2014-2017.

2022 IVSA USA Logo Contest
SAVMA International Veterinary Experience Committee
SAVMA’s International Veterinary Experience Committee (IVEC) is now calling for logo submissions to represent *IVSA USA*, the new Member Organization (MO) representing USA on an international level at International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA) global events!

This contest is only open to SAVMA members and the winner will receive a $500 USD award. The logo must incorporate in some way the IVSA logo (shown below) as well as something related to the United States. The file submitted must be in .png format. More than one submission is allowed.

The deadline for logo submissions is March 1st at 5 PM EST. The winner will be announced at SAVMA Symposium 2021. Please contact IVEC Chair, Vivian Lee, at [email protected] with any questions.

This Town Hall will cover the following topics:
In honor of vet tech week: The Veterinary Care Team- How does veterinary education shape us as vet students into new veterinarians on the team. What can we do to improve our preparedness for healthier team dynamics.
Updates from your SAVMA Executive Board. What has the board accomplished since starting in March.
This Town Hall will have an open forum format for all attendees to bring forward questions, suggestions, and comments!
