Brewski's next chapter!!

Although he had loving owners who adored him, Brewski developed a significant, potentially dangerous bucking issue. After exhausting every avenue of testing, his owners realized things weren’t working. As he was listed for sale, we shared their concern about where he might end up in the wrong hands.
We knew Brewski deserved a chance to find a different path. We gave him time to decompress, live outside with friends, and simply learn how to be a horse again.
During his letdown, Amy Skinner graciously offered her expertise, helping him build confidence and balance through methodical in-hand work. Within weeks, we could see him becoming more comfortable in his own skin.
Now, it’s time to discover what job is right for him! Brewski has spent the past two weeks with Jeremy Anglin, working through gaps in his training and building a stronger foundation. He’ll be staying with Jeremy for another 30 days, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
❤️ Sometimes, horses don’t need to be pushed harder. They need time, understanding, and a chance to find the path that’s right for them.
That’s what rescue is all about. 🐴

If you would like to support Brewski's training, you can do so through our paypal.

We're a small horse and donkey rescue in the mountains of western NC, and we're growing — but we can't do it alone.

The calls keep coming. The hay bills keep growing. And the work is bigger than the few hands we have right now.

If you've ever loved a horse, or been won over by a donkey's big brown eyes — we'd love to talk to you. We need:

*Volunteers — on the farm (mucking, feeding, grooming) or from wherever you are (grants, social media, fundraising)

*Committee members — to help us plan, fundraise, and grow

*Board members — to help steer our long-term mission

No horse experience needed. Just heart and willingness. Local or across the country, there's a place for you here.

DM us or email at [email protected]. 💛🐴

Meet our newest rescue, Son. He's as cute as can be!

His human loved him so very much, sadly when she passed away he was left without any equine companions and with family who tried their very best but did not have the ability to give him what he needed.

Great friends of the rescue, Christa Woodlief and Jessica Grove drove down to South Carolina and picked him up, they quarantined him, had a farrier visit, had him vetted and vaccinated and took great care of him for a 30-day quarantine!

After quarantined we moved him over to the rescue and have been treating him for ulcers, and addressing his asthma.

He has all of his teeth, seems to be quite sound and seems to be so thankful to have other horses to spend time with. He's learning the ropes and settling in. As a so common in the rescue world we work as a giant Network to help as many as we can. This boy has been graciously offered a spot with GAIT and Denise L Parsons who specialize in Tennessee Walkers! 🥰🥳 they are going to get this boy the most fabulous forever home! He'll be here with us until he transports up to Maryland when he is ready!
