We're a small horse and donkey rescue in the mountains of western NC, and we're growing — but we can't do it alone.

The calls keep coming. The hay bills keep growing. And the work is bigger than the few hands we have right now.

If you've ever loved a horse, or been won over by a donkey's big brown eyes — we'd love to talk to you. We need:

*Volunteers — on the farm (mucking, feeding, grooming) or from wherever you are (grants, social media, fundraising)

*Committee members — to help us plan, fundraise, and grow

*Board members — to help steer our long-term mission

No horse experience needed. Just heart and willingness. Local or across the country, there's a place for you here.

Meet our newest rescue, Son. He's as cute as can be!

His human loved him so very much, sadly when she passed away he was left without any equine companions and with family who tried their very best but did not have the ability to give him what he needed.

Great friends of the rescue, Christa Woodlief and Jessica Grove drove down to South Carolina and picked him up, they quarantined him, had a farrier visit, had him vetted and vaccinated and took great care of him for a 30-day quarantine!

After quarantined we moved him over to the rescue and have been treating him for ulcers, and addressing his asthma.

He has all of his teeth, seems to be quite sound and seems to be so thankful to have other horses to spend time with. He's learning the ropes and settling in. As a so common in the rescue world we work as a giant Network to help as many as we can. This boy has been graciously offered a spot with GAIT and Denise L Parsons who specialize in Tennessee Walkers! 🥰🥳 they are going to get this boy the most fabulous forever home! He'll be here with us until he transports up to Maryland when he is ready!

Meet our newest rescue, Son. He's as cute as can be!

We are so grateful to all of our golfers and generous business sponsors who made this event such a success. Your support truly means the world to us and plays a vital role in everything we do.

Because of you, we’re able to continue our mission and make a real difference in the lives of the horses in our care. This fundraiser is a huge part of keeping our rescue going, and we couldn’t do it without each and every one of you.
