🐾 UPDATE ON ARABELLA FROM STEPHANIE🐾

Arabella had her vet visit today, and we learned a little more about this sweet girl.

She weighs only 3 pounds and appears to be an older cat. At some point in her life, she suffered a broken tail. It’s an old injury, so unfortunately there isn’t much that can be done for it now.

We still aren’t sure whether she is incontinent. We’re hoping that as she gains some much-needed weight, nutrition, and muscle mass, we may see improvement. ❤️‍🩹

Her teeth are also in pretty bad shape and will eventually need to be addressed. We couldn’t find any indication that she has been spayed, but right now that is the least of our concerns. Arabella needs to gain weight and get stronger before we even consider putting her through any unnecessary procedures. Her dental issues will be the bigger priority once she is healthy enough.

The GREAT news — and something that honestly surprised both us and the vet — is that Arabella’s SNAP test was NEGATIVE! 🙌🐾

Considering how extremely emaciated she was when she was found, we were afraid there might be something seriously wrong with her. It’s heartbreaking to think someone may have abandoned her because she was old, sickly, or needed care.

Despite everything this little girl has apparently been through, you can already tell there is a sweetheart hiding underneath all that fear. She just needs time to learn that she is safe, loved, and doesn’t have to fight to survive anymore.

For now, the plan is simple:

❤️ Good food
❤️ Lots of rest
❤️ Gain some weight
❤️ Build her strength
❤️ Give her all the love and patience she needs

Three pounds is where Arabella’s new life begins. 🐾❤️

🐾 PLEASE HELP ARABELLA — SHE NEEDS OUR COMMUNITY 🐾

Within the past week, this sweet girl showed up in town. We believe she may have been dumped. Somehow, she made her way to the Dollar General looking for help.

She has now been named Arabella. ❤️

Arabella is severely emaciated—so thin and weak that we honestly don’t know how she has managed to survive this long. Despite everything she has been through, she held on long enough for someone to notice her.

Thankfully, Stephanie Agee-Blankenship stepped up and rescued her. Arabella will be seen by a veterinarian tomorrow so we can find out exactly what she needs and begin getting her healthy again.

💙 A Friendly Reminder from Pocy Paws 💙

First, we want to say thank you to everyone who reaches out to us with concerns about animals in need. We are so grateful to be part of a community that truly cares and looks out for the well-being of animals.

We do want to gently clarify that Pocy Paws is a spay and neuter program, not a rescue organization. While we wish we had the resources to help every animal that is abandoned, neglected, or in need, our mission and capacity are focused on reducing pet overpopulation through affordable spay and neuter services.

If you witness an animal being abandoned, neglected, abused, or mistreated, we encourage you to contact your local animal control agency or law enforcement as soon as possible. They are the appropriate organizations to investigate these situations and help ensure animals receive the care and protection they need.

Your compassion makes a difference, and we appreciate every person who takes the time to speak up for animals. Together, by each doing our part, we can make our community a safer and kinder place for pets.
