We were blessed to harvest nearly 100 pounds of fruit this year between peaches and apples!

Our fruit tree count is up to 12 now in addition to grapes, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Hoping to start bees again next season after taking some time off.

Checked Hive #1 yesterday lots of burr comb full of honey and brood. Alot of keepers remove burr but in this case I chose to leave it. Bees are working hard to store up for winter.

Checked on both hives yesterday - lots of excess honey being stored in the supers. Excited for harvest in a few months! 🍯

Good news - both hives had empty queen cages! Lots of activity in both as well. The extra comb your seeing on the side...

Good news - both hives had empty queen cages! Lots of activity in both as well.

The extra comb your seeing on the side of the frames is called "burr comb" and the bees build it wherever there is too much space.
