Today I was saddened to have to euthanize a sweet 16 year old best dog ever named Spike due to an unprovoked attack by a mama moose. His housemate was injured but survived. This incident occurred a few miles north of Lions camp on N. Hwy 67. As a friendly veterinarian reminder to pet owners, we have moose in Teller county and they pose a significant threat, especially mama moose with their young. If you encounter a moose, please maintain a safe distance. 💔️😞
