Here's a quick video of how we built this 24x18x36 Pro Terrarium for a Giant Day Gecko. 🙂

The custom background is made from Cork, Tree Fern Panels, and Ghostwood using our high tensile strength terrarium safe ASI silicone.

The bioactive substrate setup is a standard NEHERP Substrate Base Kit, with the V2 mix selected. Springtails and Dwarf White Isopods per usual.

All of the plants (minus the big ficus tree!) are part of a standard NEHERP 24x18x36 Live Plant Kit. The Ficus was added per client request. Lots of NEHERP Moss Slurry on the wood decor and tree fern panels. With a little more time to green-up, this enclosure will end up looking awesome.

Lighting is provided by Sunblaster LEDs with the NEHERP-exclusive angle-adjustable stands. That'll keep heat out while ensuring ideal projection within the environment. Can't beat the PAR output provided for the price! 🌞😎 A T5HO UVB solution will be added before the Gecko makes this place her home, along with a small heater & thermostat.

Weather alert! We may be closed Monday (2/23) depending how accurate the forecast ends up being. If we get 24in of snow in a blizzard through tomorrow like that are saying, NEHERP will be 100% closed until Tuesday. Please expect shipping delays. This season has been a tough one for weather and perishable shipping. (Why is every major storm on a Monday?! 😂)

We are closely monitoring nationwide extreme cold conditions alongside a major winter storm with up to 18in of snow forecasted for our area on January 25-26.

HOW WE'RE HANDLING IT:
We will likely be fully closed on Monday, January 26. Our administrative team will remain on site with generators, backup heat, and established contingency plans to safeguard all living things in our care should power interruptions occur. ♥

WHAT CUSTOMERS CAN EXPECT:
No orders will ship on Monday, January 26. Due to sustained extreme cold, standard or ground shipping this week would likely result in dead on arrival deliveries for most perishable items. As a result, we will not ship perishable orders via standard or ground service from January 26 through January 30, and this restriction may extend into the week of February 2 through February 6 if conditions persist. Customers who place perishable orders using an unsafe shipping method will be contacted and offered the option to upgrade to safe, guaranteed Express Shipping. Orders that are not upgraded will be held until conditions improve or canceled at the customer’s request. Flags are up on every page of the website which illustrate this policy, in an effort to be as upfront as possible. 🙂

We are confident that these temporary measures will result in the best possible outcome for both our customers and the live materials in our care. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we navigate this nationwide cold snap!

Perishable Shipping Info:
Shipping carriers will be closed on the same dates above, so ground-shipping perishable orders is not recommended due to expected transit delays. To ensure a safe and quick arrival while avoiding carrier-related delays, Express Shipping is recommended for all perishable orders between 12/23-1/1. Normal shipping schedules resume after January 1.

Perishable orders with standard/ground shipping selected during checkout between 12/24-1/1 may be proactively held until after the New Year, to ensure your sensitive items aren't damaged by delays caused by carrier closures. ❤
