Today is World Stroke Day. A day that means more to us than words could ever explain. ❤️

Every year, millions of lives are forever changed by stroke. Behind every statistic is a person, a family, a story, and a life that may never look quite the same.

For us, that person is Uncle Andy. ❤️

In June 2020, Andy suffered a devastating hemorrhagic stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side and unable to speak.

Our world was turned upside down. There were so many unknowns, so many heartbreaking moments, and a long road ahead that none of us could have imagined.

But today, we want to celebrate just how far he’s come. ❤️

The man who had to relearn how to walk spent two years working toward the goal of walking me down the aisle. The man who lost the use of his dominant hand taught himself to draw with his left. And the man who struggles to say the simplest words has somehow inspired people all around the world.

Andy is living proof that losing an ability doesn’t mean losing your purpose.

His journey hasn’t been easy. There are still daily struggles, frustrations, and challenges that most people never see. But there is also so much joy, laughter, determination, and LOVE.

And that is what we hope people remember on World Stroke Day.

Behind every stroke survivor is a story that deserves to be heard, even when they can no longer tell it with words. ❤️

A stroke changed Andy’s life, but it never changed the incredible person he is.
