I'm willing to help you with your birds also. So if you find you cant care for them anymore I would love to take them. Please know birds do in fact have a social order. Not all birds will stay here. I will help them

find new homes if they cant fit in here. I love to watch birds I have helped find new homes also. I message and keep updates. I try to help if they are being rotten, and if I cant help I will find you someone who can. I am very lucky to know a lot of beautiful people who know a lot about birds.

There was a Amazon at the shop named April. She was a wild caught and oh I can still hear her sounds of the forest that she came from. I miss her terribly. I was made to leave her with the shop. I found out she’s up for sale. Really would be nice if she found her way back to me or Maryann. I truly do carry every bird I meet with me.

I have a single baby finch looking for a home. It came from Ken the finch guy. They need to be with other finch so please have at least one your looking for a friend for. I don’t breed them so I don’t know how to tell if it’s a boy or girl. Mom plucked this poor baby and most of the feathers are back. It’s happy and healthy and looking for a friend or a nice flock to join. Message me if you want to add a BABY finch to your family please.

Here is another reason why I stopped breeding. I actually stalk/follow my birds. And always try getting them back whenever I can.

Meet Lloyd, a baby conure who was already failed by the system at just 5 months old.

Lloyd was purchased from PetSmart and lasted all of 🚨 5 weeks 🚨 with his new family before they decided to give him up for being too noisy. Vocalizations are a natural and vital method of communication for parrots. Lloyd was just being a bird.

Should his family have done more research prior to purchasing an animal? Yes. Is this a rare story for pet-store purchased birds? No. Anyone can walk into PetSmart and leave with an animal that they know nothing about, that could live for decades. This has to stop.

We need to keep pressure on pet stores to end the sale of birds in stores. Learn more about how you can get involved at fosterparrots.com/activism

I love babysitting your kids. This is Chloe. I met her around a year and a half ago. She has 2 amazing parents. I’ve gotten to babysit her a few times now. She’s an absolute doll. Her sister is still sleeping. I’ll get pics of Kermit later. But every one say Hello to the sweet baby girl Chloe.

Animal Friends’ “Short Term Fix” Program
Free Spay/Neuter Surgeries for Pittsburgh Residents

In response to the overwhelming need for affordable spay/neuter services in the City of Pittsburgh, Animal Friends is offering free surgeries for owned pets and community cats through our Short Term Fix program.

Who’s Eligible?
· City of Pittsburgh residents only
· Includes owned cats and dogs as well as community (stray/feral) cats

Live outside the city? You can still apply through our year-round affordable program.

How It Works
1. Fill out the application form at ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org/short-term-fix-spay-neuter-program/
2. If selected (first-come, first-served), we’ll contact you directly to schedule your pet’s surgery.
3. A $50 refundable deposit will be required to hold your spot – refunded on the day of surgery.

Why This Program?
· The City’s spay/neuter program is temporarily paused, leaving many without affordable options.
· Local shelters, including Animal Friends, are overwhelmed — and we’re stepping in to help.
· Thanks to support from the Margaret Raphael Foundation, we’re making these vital services available at no cost to you.

Need Help Now? Apply today — spots are limited. Apply through the appropriate links at ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org/short-term-fix-spay-neuter-program/

Together, we can prevent pet overpopulation and keep animals out of overcrowded shelter.

Chico update. She continues to do good here. She’s very comfortable and happy. She’s put on weight and oh does her Pooh look better. She likes taking an afternoon nap 💤 n this top perch as the sun is at its prettiest. And again her name is Chico no matter what she tells you. She really loves being called baby girl. She has a schedule and I can tell you what time of the day it is by where and what she’s doing. I love my bubble blowing kisses from her.

Please remember that I am not breeding anymore. After seeing so many babies over the years that I hand fed and trusted people to love and care for them as I did come back abused and neglected. I can’t imagine doing that anymore. When you guys bought my kids or even adopted one of my rescue you got me for life. My door is still open to all my babies and rescues. But I won’t be breeding anymore because it truly is a commitment I make to each bird I brought in to this world. Have I ever made money? NO! Why because I put everything back into the flock for care and toys and cages and avian lights. Just like now the very little grooming I do doesn’t come to me, it goes into my flock and the wish list I have for them. They are a huge deal to me. Every baby matters to me. I drop food to a few families who want their birds and don’t have to care for them. I drop off pellets or a better seed as to them not getting wild bird food. So was a back yard breeder or hobbiest breeder yes. I breed well loved and mannered birds. My breeders were loving birds and companions. Not all breeders are like me. Just know I love my flock and their family. And I will continue to be here for all of them and you. I just won’t be bringing more birds into this world because the amount that was coming back was/is heartbreaking. But watching them come home and zoom back to their rooms feels good it also hurts. So messaging me you’ll get a spring baby isn’t happening. The 2 babies that are 4 months old didn’t come from my room or flock. They came from a friend who didn’t know how to hand feed. So I bought them from him so I could watch over them. They get my love for life but please know I won’t have anymore babies. So don’t expect babies in the spring. These guys are it so to speak. I’m looking into being a foster home for a bird or 2 at a time. I’m looking to make a difference to the birds that are here. Not creating more birds that according to my account I get back 1/4 of my babies. That’s a lot. Sorry for the long post though I could post again why I am not breeding anymore one more time for those who missed why I got out of it.
