🐾 Happy International Cat Day! 🐾
August 8 is the purr-fect day to celebrate one of humanity’s oldest and coolest companions — the cat! 🐱

From being worshiped as gods in Ancient Egypt, to becoming pop culture icons today, cats have clawed their way into our hearts and homes. Independent, curious, adventurous, and self-healing — cats are truly fascinating creatures. Did you know they descended from the African Wildcat and were originally domesticated to catch vermin?

📜 A little history:

Ancient Egyptians revered cats as divine protectors.
Greeks and Romans used them for pest control.
In the Middle Ages, cats were unfairly blamed for the Black Death.
By the 1600s, their reputation began to recover.
Colonists brought cats to America to fight disease and vermin — and they thrived!
Today, with an estimated 600 million cats worldwide, they’re more than pets — they’re family. And thanks to the International Fund for Animal Welfare, cats have had their own holiday since 2002! 🥳

From August 3–9, we're celebrating Give a Dog a Bone Week and International Assistance Dog Week — two powerful initiatives that honor the love, loyalty, and service of dogs in our communities.

💙 Give a Dog a Bone Week supports homeless pets and their owners through donations of food, supplies, and free health checks. You can help by donating pet food, volunteering, or even adopting a furry friend in need.

🐶 International Assistance Dog Week (August 3–7) shines a light on the incredible service dogs who help people with disabilities live more independently. These dogs and their trainers change lives every day.

📦 Want to help? By contributing to our Angel Fund, you can directly support pets in need. We also have tumblers, window decals, and car decals available for purchase — all proceeds go toward this cause.
