I am asking all potential new dog owners to carefully think about and research the needs of your new family member before bringing them home. I ask this because I see too many returning adopted dogs at the shelter I volunteer for and dogs surrendered because the owners could not provide the physical and mental stimulation the dog needed.
So please choose not by how cute or what you think you want, but by your lifestyle and how much time you are willing to commit to give the animal a good, happy, loving home.
If you're a couch potato, a GSD or any working line, sporting dog is not for you(just for example).
They are not an object for you to own, they are living breathing creatures that need love, exercise, and for most TRAINING!
