A huge thank you to everyone who made Midwest BunFest such a success this past weekend πŸ–€ Thank you to for hosting such an amazing event and having us as a rescue partner this year. Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped with months of preparation and traveled 6 hours round-trip to help run our booth. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi and support the bunnies. Thank you to all of the generous event vendors and sponsors who donated supplies to the bunnies. Thank you to Rosie's Treasures for donating a portion of their sales to Operation Obi. It was so amazing connecting with other rescues and spending the day surrounded by those who love and care about bunnies as much as we do πŸ–€

Special thanks to:

Congratulations to Charlie, who found his forever home today πŸ–€ This handsome guy received not one, not two, but five adoption applications in about a week. We're so happy this sweet boy was so loved and he's going to get all the love and attention he deserves in his new home. Be sure to stay in touch, Charlie!

We have been busy this week between upcoming adoptions (yay!), temporarily relocating the bunnies for an emergency HVAC replacement, and preparing for Midwest BunFest this coming weekend. We, unfortunately, won't be able to make it to the Bellevue Farmers Market today, but we have some great events planned over the next few months and hope you'll join us at those πŸ–€

Photo of Charlie in a temporary foster home this week while the HVAC was getting replaced. This sweet boy has a pending adoption and we are so happy for him πŸ–€

Yesterday, we were contacted by a good samaritan who had rescued a baby bunny from a stray cat. We recently had some bunnies come back from foster and are completely full, but knowing the potential severity of the situation, we couldn't turn them away. This little one, transported to us in a small shoebox, appears to only be about a month old. They have an emergency vet appointment today and could use everyone's thoughts and prayers. Please let this be a reminder of why both domestic rabbits and cats should be kept indoors. Any help whether it be donations toward their vet care or supplies from our wishlist would be so greatly appreciated. All donation and wishlist links can be found via the link below πŸ–€

Today marks one year since Jessie said "hard pass" on being a mother and made us hand-raise her babies. While she may not get the world's best mother title, she did hold her babies in just long enough to give birth in rescue rather than outdoors where they had little chance of survival. While Jessie's babies have all found their forever homes, Jessie remains in search of hers.

Jessie is shy at first after all she's been through and she has strong opinions about her stuff and her space, but she's a fun-loving, sweet girl when given a chance and she's already made great progress at her foster home. We hope she too will soon find her πŸ–€

Happy Birthday to the Stranger Things babies, Eleven (now Luna Nova), Eddie, and Mad Max. You defied all odds and taught us so much about hand-raising neonates, which is information we've been able to share with so many since in order to save other abandoned, orphaned, or rejected babies.

Charlie πŸ–€

Charlie was rescued outside along with several female bunnies. We assume they may have originally been part of a backyard breeding operation. At 8lbs and only estimated to be around 8 months old, we suspect Charlie is a Flemish mix and still has a bit of growing to do. Charlie immediately settled into and was thrilled about his new life indoors. He is very friendly and outgoing. He loves attention and lights up anytime his foster parents enter the room. Charlie is the happiest guy and a friend to all. He is full of energy, but will happily settle in for a snuggle session.

Charlie has been neutered, vaccinated, and had a wellness check so he is available for adoption πŸ–€

The truth is the bunnies really enjoy it and if they didn't we wouldn't do it πŸ–€ Yoga is a calm and quiet practice that makes for a very peaceful environment for the bunnies. They enjoy some socialization and extra space to play and explore while allowing us to educate the community about rabbits as pets and the rabbit abandonment crisis. It's also great visibility for our bunnies looking for their forever homes. We try to only bring our more social, outgoing bunnies to events; those who we think will thrive in such an environment. We also instruct attendees on how to properly interact with the bunnies (i.e. where they like to be pet, not to pick them up, etc.). Overall, it's a great experience for everyone and we hope you'll join us sometime πŸ–€

Thank you to everyone who attended Bunny Yoga today! πŸ°πŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈ We had the best time and the money we raised will go directly towards helping the bunnies in our care waiting for their forever homes. Thank you to our amazing volunteers and to for always being such great hosts πŸ–€ Keep an eye out for the next class in January!

Rescued last month after she was abandoned outside by a suspected breeder. She was thin, dehydrated, covered in ticks/fleas, absolutely terrified, and pregnant. It's taken time and a lot of love to get her to the outgoing, trusting girl she is today. She is Sloane πŸ–€ She is why we rescue πŸ–€

Sloane will be available for adoption and looking for her forever home next week πŸ–€
