Hey friends!

I wanted to show all of you some of the pictures from the previously scheduled sessions with Sven, our little highland bottle calf!

Back story on how Sven became a bottle baby;

• Sven is the product of our dun highland bull, Allister, and our white highland cow, Pearl!

• Sven was born on August 14, 2025. It was 95° outside! He was born in the fence line, with no shade to protect him from the heat. He quickly began to overheat. Thankfully a family member saw him and reached out, stating they didn’t think he was doing well. Sven’s temperature was over 108° which is 6 degrees higher than it should ever be!

•After 3 hours of working to cool him down, his temperature was under control. His temp might be under control, but now what?? Sven needs to eat!

•Sven was brought into the barn where he could be watched on cameras when no one was able to sit with him. We worked on teaching him to drink from a bottle. Sven was able to get the colostrum he needed!

•The next question; Do we turn Sven back out with his herd in such a fragile state, or do we keep him as a bottle baby? We opted to keep him as a bottle baby.

•Bottle raised calves are much like bottle goat kids. They become very “in your pocket” type, which makes the opportunity to do photo sessions with all of you and your littles much easier!

•At just 7 days old, Sven made his debut at our Store in Pittsboro! His presence brought several smiles to hundreds of people’s faces! Some of you even told us that you saw him on Facebook and stopped in because you were having a bad day at work. We are SO HAPPY that Sven was able to make your day better!

That being said, we would love to continue to make you smile! We want to brighten your day! It over joys us to see how one little buddy can make all of the difference in a bad day.

We ask you to step in our shoes for 15 minutes!
Book a session with Sven! We allow you to bottle feed him at certain times.

There is a $100 fee for the photo sessions, you are guaranteed to receive 12 edited pictures. We ask for a $50 non refundable , but transferable deposit to hold your place when you book.
