Hello, friends! 🐾❤️
By now, I'm sure many of you have seen or heard about the recent animal hoarding case discovered here in Bledsoe County. While this heartbreaking situation has received significant attention, it also shines a light on a much larger issue our community has faced for far too long.
The truth is that cases like this are not rare. Many never make the news or receive the public attention they deserve, but they happen right here in our county. One of the biggest challenges we face is the lack of a local animal shelter and the limited resources available to help animals in need. This is exactly why WAGS of Bledsoe was created—and why our mission is so important.
Our WAGS members were on the scene assisting with the rescue efforts in this hoarding case. So far, we have helped rescue 13 puppies, 4 adult dogs, and 3 guinea pigs. Every one of these animals deserves a second chance, and we are honored to be part of giving them hope.
Since January 2026, WAGS of Bledsoe has raised $4,742.91 toward our goal of building an animal shelter for Bledsoe County. While we know there is still a long road ahead, every dollar, every volunteer, every share, and every word of encouragement brings us one step closer to making that dream a reality.
Our commitment extends beyond rescue. We are dedicated to educating the public about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare while hosting community events that promote compassion, unity, and a shared love for animals. We believe that together, we can create a safer, kinder future for both the animals and the people of Bledsoe County.

We also want to recognize and thank the Rhea County Animal Shelter for helping Bledsoe County residents and our animals even though they do not have to, did not have the space, and face many of their own personal challenges. They are an extraordinary team of dedicated individuals who better not only their own community, but also ours. We are blessed to have been able to work with them during this difficult time, and we hope to provide the same support to our community and hopefully theirs ❤️🥰
