Yesterday morning was beautiful! We participated in the Run the Runway 5K at Culpeper Regional Airport. The event was organized and put on by Bishop Events. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Seuk’s Army so we can continue our mission of saving animals on the euthanasia list.

We are so proud of Seuk’s daughter, Leah, for winning 1st Place in her age group! We also had a very special pup named Conway who ran with his owner Ragan and came in second place! Conway came from Heard County Animal Control in Franklin, GA. He was discarded at the shelter by his previous owners, ended up on the urgent list, caught a flight to VA with us and was adopted by his foster family in VA. His story is a testimony to why we do what we do! His life now is beautiful and he is so loved. Gives us all the feels and reminds us that these animals deserve these second chances so much. To think this perfect dog could have been euthanized is just too much to fathom.

We also had Bubba, Seuk (named after his hero pilot who flew him up) and Maple who walked the runway with us as well. All 3 were dogs who were brought north on our transports 🩷

Volunteer of the Month: Cathy Wingfield Gillespie

We are proud to honor Cathy as our Volunteer of the Month! She is part of the ground volunteers at Culpeper Regional Airport.

Cathy is a true champion for our dogs—helping at the airport by walking and loading pups onto planes, ensuring each one receives love and attention before their journey. She also regularly drives dogs to boarding and foster homes, always ready to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.

In addition to her volunteer work, Cathy opened her heart and home to two special needs puppies from one of our transports. Her compassion and dedication are nothing short of inspiring.
