This is Winston and Maisie! I unfortunately forgot to get a before picture of Winston, but they are nearly identical twins! They are golden retrievers.

They got the standard golden retriever cut which is called a perimeter trim - neaten up the chest, belly, b***y, feathering on the forelegs, tail, and paws.

The best tools to maintain a golden retriever at home are a slicker brush, poodle comb, and greyhound comb. They are a shedding breed so are considered fairly low maintenance - to keep him in tip top shape and keep hair off your floor once every 2-3 weeks should be enough! I do not recommend tools like the Furminator brush as that can cut the hair and damage the coat condition, something the fine hair of a golden retriever is very sensitive to.

This is Loki and Loui, a pair of yorkies demonstrating how different coat types can be even within the same breed!

They just get a slight neaten up. Hand scissor to round out their faces and feet, and to tidy up the tummy area.

The best tools to groom this sort of hair are a slicker or pin brush and greyhound comb. They are a high maintenance breed that would need to be brushed several times a week to stay in top condition, but due to the kind of hair yorkies have, they are easier to de-tangle than similar breeds like shih tzu and maltese!

This is Evie, a terrier mix ( I'm not sure what kind )!

She got a long blade attachment to mostly just take off the very ends of her hair with scissored legs.

Coarse terrier coats are some of the easiest to maintain of all the long haired breeds as they don't tangle very easily and if they do, they brush out with little effort. Regular maintenance can be done with a slicker brush and a flea comb.

Just wanted to draw a long and skinny dog so I chose a Saluki! Saluki are a sighthound which was originally bred to hunt small fast things like foxes and gazelles. Sighthounds are called that because rather than sniff things out, they use their good eyes and extreme speed to run things down!

This is Winnifred, the border collie!

She always has a special place for me because she was the VERY FIRST dog I groomed when I got hired at Stonecrest to prove I knew what I was doing. :) I believe that was somewhere around 6-7 years ago now!

This time around she got a good brushout and a light feather trim.

To maintain this sort of coat, I recommend a slicker brush and a greyhound comb.

This is the aptly named Baby Girl when she was still an 'actual' baby ( about 4 months old )! She is a miniature poodle.

As she was still in her baby coat and this was her very first groom, I mostly just neatened up the ends of her hair and cleaned up her face and feet a little, but it's amazing how much a difference that can make!

Baby hair can be deceptive because on most breeds it is very easy to maintain and also doesn't shed very much which leaves a lot of people think their dog will be less work than it is, or non-shedding when it will be very hairy! Baby hair starts shedding out somewhere around 6 months old and will be fully transitioned into adult hair by 1 year old.

During this time, a dog prone to matting - such as poodles and doodles - will tangle up very very easily as baby and adult hair have conflicting textures, so make sure you brush extra ( several times a week ) if you want your pup to stay long-haired!

To maintain baby coat a simple slicker brush now and again will work but an adult miniature poodle will need a slicker brush, greyhound comb, and finishing comb.

This is Pepper, the Kerry Blue Terrier!

This is a very unique breed with a unique coat type!

She gets a modified version of the show trim. Her back is done with a #4 blade and her legs and face are scissored even. Don't worry! The hair on her face doesn't impede her vision!

Was allowed to get a little creative today! Please note :: Color is not available for customers yet! Hopefully later this year when I get better quality supplies!

This is Chloe, she is a miniature schnauzer mix

Her haircut is a modified pet schnauzer show trim using a #7 blade on her back with clean feet. Her furnishings are gently neatened with scissors.

Let's start with my personal dog, Larrymoe!

She is a siberian husky. Yes, they come in red!

The rare times I trim her, it's usually to neaten up her back leg feathering and tail a little bit but she usually doesn't get trimmed at all.

To maintain her coat, she gets brushed with :: slicker brush, poodle comb, rubber curry brush, and flea comb.

And also business updates, such as
--My new, custom designed report cards featuring art by yours truly just rolled out! A few of you guys have received them already
--Occasional sales
--New product information! For instance, I now use iGroom shampoos and conditioners. They are a show quality line of shampoos, conditions, and colognes that dramatically improve coat condition and have far better, longer lasting fragrances ( don't worry, I have sensitive skin and fragrance free options for the pups that need something gentler, too )
--Now open every other SATURDAY ( finally )! I have two spots open on saturdays. These grooms will have a very fast turnaround time so if you'd prefer not to wait long for your pet, ask for a saturday spot! We close at 12 PM noon on saturday, so please make sure you are able to pick up your pet by then
--Did you know on Wednesday and Thursday I also have an early morning spot? 7AM spots are also typically done very fast!
--Please note, speed cannot be guaranteed! While owners like their pet to be finished quickly, it's very common for pups to want a short break time now and again, especially if it's a senior dog.

If you want a picture of your pet taken down, simply ask! I honor take down requests.
