Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer — it is a day to honor those who gave everything so we could enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

At Frostbite Giant Schnauzers , we are especially grateful for the courage, loyalty, and dedication shown by our nation’s heroes. Those same qualities are what we admire so deeply in our Giant Schnauzers every day.

To all the families carrying the weight of loss today, we remember with you and honor your loved ones.

Watching Quincy Jones grow up has been incredible. 🖤

This pepper & salt Giant Schnauzer is really starting to come into his own. The harsh coat is developing beautifully, his structure is maturing, and that classic Giant attitude is showing more every day. Anyone who knows this breed knows they take their time to fully mature, and it’s exciting seeing each stage unfold.

Still a work in progress, but the pieces are coming together and I’m loving the dog he’s becoming.

🩵💙Welcome to Frostbite Giants 💙🩵

We are a small kennel located in Bucks County Pennsylvania.

Our goal is to improve the Pepper Salt Giant schnauzers. We fully health test and actively show and title our dogs.

The focus of our program is to have well rounded versatile pepper salt giants who excell in both the conformation ring and performance ring.

We fully health test above OFA recommendations (when the dog is of age so 2 years old- Genetic testing is started sooner)
We breed for correct temperament, coat and structure.

We currently own three pepper salt Giants:

Silver Senator Quincy Jones (Quincy) AKC POINTED 🩵💙

He is a Hungarian import with a combination of Russian, Italian and Hungarian Pepper Salt lines.
Quincy has a phenomenal temperament, he is a very outgoing dog who is still maturing. He will be shown in Conformation and in Performance.
Quincy has a nice hard wire coat with hard furnishings.

(Spirit)
Spirit is a very confident and outgoing girl. She currently is in training for rally, obedience, herding, scentwork with goals to start trialing in late 2026 . She is currently AKC pointed towards her conformation championship with owner Handed group placements as well. She also has 60 points towards her UKC championship (with multiple Group placements). She obtained her CGC canine good citizenship and trick dog title. Spirit has a hard coat with less furnishings.

Klaus is pet who loves to play show dog, he is the dog who started our love for the pepper salts.
He is not part of our breeding program but he has set the standard on what we would like to improve in Pepper salts.

FastCat is a sport you can do with your giant (once they are 2 years old and growth plates are closed) It’s a 100 yard dash which is timed. Spirit finished in 8.55 seconds! She now has 89.91 points (she ran 4 times) toward her BCAT title (needs 150 points)

So Spirit is about 95% finished with her health testing! Last test is her Eyes and she will have her CHIC number 🥳Spirit...

So Spirit is about 95% finished with her health testing! Last test is her Eyes and she will have her CHIC number 🥳

Spirit is:
OFA Hips: Good
OFA Elbows: Normal
OFA Heart: Normal
OFA Thyroid: Normal *result is pending but will be listed soon*

Clear for all genetic diseases associated with giant schnauzers

She is coat colored tested as well (not a requirement but important)
Aw/Aw Wolf sable/grey

Health testing is done to make sure that you are not breeding dogs who are unhealthy or not suitable for breeding.

Some breeds are predisposed to certain conditions such as hip or elbow dysplasia.

Giant Schnauzers are prone to:

Hip dysplasia
Elbow dysplasia
Heart issue such as DCM
Thyroid issues
Eye issues

Responsible breeder will always health test any dogs that they are planning to breed.

Official records for hips/elbows for OFA can not be done unless the dog is two years or older ( you can have whats called a preliminarily hip exam which will not be posted publicly on OFA if the dog is under 24 months) There is the option of PennHip which can be done as early as 4 months old

It is recommended by OFA to retest yearly:

Eyes
Thyroid
Heart

These things can change and sometimes issues may not appear until later in life so retesting is a must!

Health testing is not 100% Guaranteed to prevent your pup from developing these issues however it does help ease your mind that your pup came from a reputable breeder who took the extra steps to help produce healthy dogs ❤️

B-matches are shows that do not count towards championships however you get all the sights and sounds of a real show! You dont have to dress fancy but you can if you want.

She took Best of Breed Adult dog and a Working Group 3 under judge Cliff Steele 🙌🏽

I am super proud of her and can’t wait for next weeks shows

There will be a decent entry of giants all 5 days (March 12-16) come out and meet us!

We will only be there Thursday, Saturday and Sunday!
