Emeka's Fund We provide financial assistance to families who cannot afford to privately euthanize their terminally ill pet. That is how Emeka’s Fund was created.

Emeka’s Fund is an idea born out of an owner surrender named Emeka. Emeka was an older German Shepherd who seemed loved and cared for throughout his life. However, as Emeka started to age, he became really sick. His owner took him to the vet and after some diagnostic testing, it was determined that Emeka was terminally ill. His owner was unable to afford private euthanasia and with a heavy heart,

he tearfully surrendered Emeka to ACCT Philly, believing that Emeka would be immediately euthanized. Owner requested euthanasia is not the mission of ACCT Philly, so as volunteers, we saw a need to help pet owners with private euthanasia. Our group works with a few vets in different parts of Philadelphia and its suburbs to provide low cost service. We ask for a donation but we realize the majority of the cost would be covered by us. We do need to verify the medical condition is incurable and the quality of life is affected. We can then arrange for private euthanasia. We are hoping to provide peace and comfort to both owner and pet.

Emekas fund is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization who provides financial assistance to families who cannot afford to euthanize their terminally ill pets.
So many pets suffer with cancer, age-related illness, and sudden medical emergencies. When treatment isn’t an option, families are often left devastated... feeling like they have to surrender their pet or say goodbye without being there because of the cost.

We step in when there’s nowhere else to turn.

We help alleviate that financial burden and keep families together until their pet’s very last breath.
