I love the way the a.i. program places “Bates and Anna”, everyone’s favorite Downton couple, at a party, turning their simple servants attire into evening ware.
These two were meant to be together from the first episode; we followed their trials and tribulations through to their final happiness. Never has a couple since “As the World Turns” had to endure such challenges. But that’s probably why we love them so much!

“The Evolution of Flossie!”…..People always ask how I go about executing a colored pencil portrait so I took photos as I worked. SWIPE THROUGH to see the larger images. FYI - all images were taken with my camera phone which accounts for slightly different coloration with each image. Final artwork (see previous post) is always scanned for detail and color accuracy.
For me, as a watercolor artist for over 40 years it was an easy transition to colored pencils as layers are built upon layers. What I love about pencils is that you can add more layers of different colors without getting muddy. Highlights are easily added with special erasers. Also, blending layer colors for a smoother finish is also possible.
It’s been an interesting journey and I’m really enjoying it.

“Midsomer Murders”: The best murder mystery series EVER! If you’ve never seen it before let me introduce you to the lead detectives, Detective Sargent Gavin Troy and Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, played by Daniel Casey and John Nettles. They are the original detectives from the first season (and my favorites). If you haven’t yet seen this excellent British crime drama you can get caught up on demand. I highly recommend it!

Nicknamed, “The Look” for her devastatingly seductive stare, she was named the 20th-greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema by the American Film Institute. She received an Academy Honorary Award in 2009 in recognition of her contribution to the Golden Age of motion pictures. Bacall was one of the last surviving major stars from theGolden Age of Hollywood cinema.

The Bad and the Good; Downton Abbey favorites!
We loved to hate Thomas and we loved to feel sorry for poor old Molesley!
Robert James-Collier as Thomas Barrow and Kevin Doyle as Joseph Molesley.

Number 14 and the last of my Downton Abbey colored pencil portraits. And while there were others, these are the top favorites of the cast.

I still watch this amazing series that aired from 2010 - 2015; 231 award nominations with 61 wins, 15 of which were Primetime Emmy Awards.
Downton Abbey will live on forever!
