Dogs are wonderful companions and I love their spirit for life. All animals give endless joy, happiness, and comfort to us all. Today, make sure to give them an extra biscuit or hinny scratch. Weeny beanie may be loving you a bit extra these last few months —going into overtime snuggle hours. 💛We are grateful for them 💛

Thank you Bridget, Feeny, and Leah for the great reference photo.

My favorite part of the painted Feeny is her pink toes and speckled fur. On the first watercolor paint wash of Feeny, I was thrilled with the color! I wetted the entire area (feeny’s back) with water and then slowly added drops of Payne’s grey, new gamboge, and burnt sienna. Check out the paint tubes below.

Peeling Tape video #2
Removing the border off another completed watercolor portrait on paper.
A taped border allows a beautiful clean edge to frame the art. Many times I will chose to use the tape method. I do however love to showcase a paintings natural watery edges - when I have the chance !
