We love our Misty 🐈‍⬛️❤️

Misty was the very first cat I rescued when I was only 18 years old. At the time, I was in my active addiction & was in no place to be rescuing animals. My grandmom took her "for just a few days". Those few days turned into 11 years!

Although I wasn't around while she grew up, I always knew she was safe and loved with my grandmom. Misty also became a symbol of hope for me & my family because we got her at a time when we were going through a family crisis. We got through those hard times, with the help from Misty.

Misty is now 11 years old. She is still with my grandmom and I see her every time I go over. She likes to forget that I am the one who saved her because she swats me when I try to pet her sometimes. She's an independent lady 😸😂

Just dropped off donations for the women at Riverview Wellness Village. Riverview is a residential recovery community, the men and women here have already completed rehab & are onto the next stage in their lives and recovery.

I chose to donate to them because I know what it's like to not have anything. I once relied on donations myself, and it was the kindness of other people that got me through those hard times.

I brought plenty of clothes and cosmetics for them!

Feeding my feral cat colony... pt 14

I look forward to feeding time every day because I get to see all of the cats. I know they depend on me to show up for them, so I do. It's apart of my daily routine now.

They are starting to trust me more, even after trapping there. One day, I will sneak a pet from one of them - but until then, can't take any chances lol. The black cat, Freddy (for Freddy Kruger) likes to come in acting friendly then he'll catch you with those claws every single time. Even just putting food down and my hand gets close to him, catch the paws every single time lol.

So, this is looking the way I want it to. For those that don't already know, I am writing a memoir. This memoir is perfect for anyone, but cat lovers & people with loved ones in addiction will really identify.

I am writing this in the hopes that someone reading can say "If he can do it, why can't I?". I am not holding any punches, I will be 100% honest about my experience going through active addiction & homelessness at a young age. If you ever wanted to know really what it was like for me, and for the thousands of others affected by the same issues, this is the book for you.

The message is one of hope, resilience, and determination to better one's life. Yes, it will be very heavy subject matter, but I promise the overall message of the book is positive. I have journal entries from when I was in treatment, a bunch of different times - so that'll be a real treat for readers to get to see inside the mind of someone going through what I went through.

I am open to any opinions or recommendations for the title, subtitles, and the cover of the book. Please let me know any ideas you have and you can be 100% honest in your feedback.

Me & Mama wanted to wish everyone a great day! We are very grateful for all of the support I've been receiving lately. For those that don't know I am in the process of writing a book, a memoir. It's called Nine Lives Later: Surviving Addiction, Redemption, And The Cats That Saved My Life.
