I have been involved in the Pet Industry for over 20 years, many of those spent partnering and developing a large animal rescue specializing in hard to adopt dogs. The trenches of rescue offer an infinite amount of wisdom when it comes to training and behavior modification as half of all dogs surrendered are due to be

havioral issues. I am also a certified AKC CGC, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, CGC, AKC Community Canine, Urban CGC, Video Home Manners and Trick Dog Evaluator. My unique approach includes a system that has been developed through years of research and personal experience. As a trainer, my belief is that training dogs should be fun and innovative so that all involved in the process experience the benefits! My training system adapts to your dog’s personality and teaches you and your family how to “think like your dog.”

Your dog is an individual and should be trained using methods that are most effective for that personality! Over the years, I have been dubbed “The Puppy Whisperer” and can teach you how to speak their language too!

I get frantic calls often from clients thinking their dog is choking/has kennel cough/upper respiratory issue. When it’s really a harmless and normal reaction. Great technique in this video on how to stop it.

Here’s the #1 mistake I see new puppy parents make:
👉 Waiting too long to start training!

Those first 8–16 weeks shape your puppy’s entire future. They are sponges for knowledge at that age!

Waiting “until they’re older” means you’re missing the critical socialization window where they’re naturally curious and open to learning.

✅ Start now with simple routines like name recognition, crate training, potty structure, and loose leash walking.

We have been BUSY here and just now getting a moment to share a VERY special pup we had the distinct pleasure of training!
Meet Maki ❤️ She is a Shikoku Ken 🤩
We feel beyond blessed to have had this rare opportunity as there are very few in existence! And Maki did her breed proud as she thrived - smart, outgoing, tenacious and of course gorgeous!
She went home to join her human Mom and Dad as well as her Shiba Inu sister Suzu (whom we also trained here) and her Akita cousin Riku - they now have all 3 Japanese breeds in the family!
