Hike & Train Adventures... This is why we do training out in everyday environments. Today we were hiking on a narrow trail and then a horse showed up behind us. A horse can only trot so slow, so we had to do a little speed hiking. This crew did great because we train for being around horses. This not the first time, but it is the closest the horse has been behind us.

Hike & Train Adventures... You see three dogs playing. Look closer, Stanley is actually stuck in the middle and needs help on what to do next. This is why it's important to build a strong relationship with your dog. Notice he does a shake off. This is him releasing stress and letting the other dogs know he needs space. At this point I call them all. This causes them all to disengage and everyone has space. This also teaches Stanley that he does have an option to come to me instead of being stuck. It also teaches him that I see he was stuck and I'm there to help him. Notice I also make a big deal that he recalled. He's the newest and I heavily want to reward recall. I also verbally praise Buckley because he also is learning recall.

Hike & Train Adventures... Lots of log hopping today and winding trails.

Hike & Train Adventures... Lots of sniffing and exploring today. When it rains it changes everything for your dog. Dogs love to go out after the rain and check things. Then of course the humidity kicked in so to the water we went.

Hike & Train Adventures... Hiking hills today. Cooper did great for his first time doing hills. The others showed him that going down hill does not mean race down the hill.

Teamwork makes training better! They did their sit/stay or stand/stay command. Also, Buckley had to do the command not next to his sister. When working with dogs from the same family it's important to train them separately and individually even when together. This is a good demonstration of the training together but individually.

Hike & Train Adventures... Water Day and cooling vests on! This crew was amazing bc what isn't in the video are the mothers and children that were to the left of us also playing. On the trails or in the water i train them not to engage with others unless they ask to engage with us.
