As we count down the days 'til the 31st, don't forget about pet safety. Most pet owners know that chocolate is toxic to furry friends; also make sure to keep them away from alcohol, raisins, macadamia nuts and sugar-y candy.

👻 Expecting trick or treaters? If your pet is easily spooked by the doorbell, consider keeping them in another room, to reduce stress and keep them from darting out.

🐹 Planning to dress up your pet? Try on costumes ahead of time, to make sure they're not too tight or restricting movement, vision or hearing. And remember - some pets just don't like costumes, no matter how cute they look.

Our favorite time of year: Kitten season! 🐱

Most kittens are born between April and October each year. This is due to female cats' reproductive systems; as the days grow longer each year following the winter solstice, female cats start to go into heat. The gestation period for one litter is about 60 days, which means the first kittens arrive early spring.
