Summer Heat & Dog Safety: What Every Dog Parent Should Know ☀️🐾
Did you know dogs can suffer from heat exhaustion in just minutes during hot weather?
Unlike humans, dogs don’t sweat. They rely on panting to cool down. High temps, hot pavement, and humidity can quickly lead to burned paws and dangerous overheating.
Flat-faced breeds, seniors, and puppies are especially vulnerable.
Here’s how we keep your dog safe in the heat:
✅ Walks are rescheduled for early mornings or evenings
✅ We check pavement temperature (hand test = 5 seconds rule)
✅ Shade, water, and frequent breaks are part of every outing
✅ On high-risk days, we offer indoor enrichment instead
✅ We monitor your dog closely for any signs of heat stress
Signs of overheating include:
– Excessive panting or drooling
– Lethargy or collapse
– Bright red gums
– Vomiting or diarrhea
Your dog’s safety comes first. Every single walk is adjusted based on the forecast, breed, age, and energy level.
