We’ve had a lot of interest in possible male kittens lately. We’re not sure why it seems most families prefer males. Our assumption is for size and weight. Males generally are going to be longer and heavier than the females. However, this breed continues to grow until about three years of age. All of our females that are over a year old weigh around fourteen pounds and are long and lean. Lyos is maybe half of a pound heavier. They will all keep growing though and putting on weight for another one to two years.

We also love all of our Maine c***s but we have noticed a slight difference in Lyos vs all of the females. Lyos is a loveable easy going man. He can be a bit of a baby at times, snuggling by tucking his face into arms when held and desperate for love. Generally, he prefers one person more than others. He’ll ask for love from anyone but chases Reilly around screaming for pets 😹

Most of our females are very docile and an “everybody” cat. They don’t prefer specific people as they’ll cuddle and play with anyone. They’re also more fearless. Laying on the floor not worried about being almost stepped on by children or our dog. They respond to their names faster too in our experience.

Basically, we just want everyone to know that males or females are great for the same and also different reasons! And we’d love to be able to find homes for our female kittens easier because we love them too! As of right now, we still have Sukie and Bloom looking 🏡.

We do plan to pair TyLee and Delphine to Lyos around August. Ideally the next two litters would be born around the same time so the mamas could co-parent nurse and clean.

Lyos x TyLee: Black/black smoke/possibly blue all with or without white and 50/50 mitten poly/non poly

Lyos x Delphine: a wide color variety with or without white and with or without smoke/silver. All poly but 50/50 mitten or patty poly.

Retired Sukie will be two next month and we’d really love for her to find her family so she can get more bonding time. We have decided to reduce her total.

We cannot be more specific on the page due to rules but we can pm and eventually will put her on our own website too.

Some notes about our amazing girl!
Sukie has been a Mama through two litters of her own, and helped raise Bloom too. She’s very nurturing to her kittens. She’s very treat motivated and loves brushings for treats! Shes been known to reach into the container if we’re not fast enough or try to lunge after others treats before they can get to them. She’s very clever and responds to her name well. She’ll ask for love and loves to cuddle. She does well for baths and nail trims if treats are involved! She loves to play with laser pointers and strings too.

-We’d recommend a home without small children only for the fact that Sukie doesn’t like her belly touched and will give light claws as a warning “no touch!”. She does well with our three and five year old but we also have taught our kids how to respect animals well. They know when to give space. She’s not one to be carried around like a ragdoll (like Gilda 😂) but she does love pets on the ground or on a lap.
