🐾 Patient Success Story – Ollie 🐾

Ollie, a 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, came to Big Hollow Companion Animal Hospital with a history of recurrent urinary tract infections and urinary accidents. Although his UTI resolved with treatment, he continued having intermittent accidents, which led our team to investigate further.

Because Ollie had a history of elevated liver enzymes, additional testing was performed and confirmed a diagnosis of Cushing’s disease, an endocrine disorder involving the adrenal and/or pituitary glands. After starting treatment, Ollie returned for recheck testing to ensure his medication was working appropriately — and we’re happy to report he’s doing well and his urinary symptoms have resolved! 💙

Way to go, Ollie! 🐾

If your pet is experiencing increased thirst, urinary accidents, recurrent infections, or other unusual changes, it may be worth discussing further diagnostics with your veterinarian.

🐾 Patient Success Story – Zoey 🐾

Zoey, a 5-year-old Vizsla mix, has dealt with mild to moderate allergies for years. One of the biggest frustrations for her was chronically irritated and impacted a**l glands — a common issue associated with allergies that can cause a lot of discomfort and itching.

After discussing long-term options with her family, Zoey underwent an a**l sacculectomy (a**l gland removal surgery) to help prevent future impactions and abscesses and improve her overall comfort. We’re happy to report that Zoey is recovering beautifully and was all smiles at her post-op recheck appointment earlier this month — just in time to celebrate her 6th birthday! 🎉💙

Great job, Zoey, and happy belated birthday! 🐾
