It’s been a little quiet here lately, and I wanted to let everyone know why.

Last week, we learned that Janna’s recent breeding did not result in a pregnancy. Needless to say, it was disappointing news after months of planning and preparation.

Breeding dogs is never guaranteed. Even when you work closely with veterinarians, carefully monitor progesterone, and do everything you can to stack the odds in your favor, sometimes nature has different plans.

We took a little time to process everything and discuss our next steps before posting an update.

Janna is doing great, she’s healthy, happy, and back to being herself. Our focus now is making the best long-term decisions for both her and the future of Vom Heater Haus.

We truly appreciate everyone who has followed her journey and supported us along the way. This wasn’t the update we hoped to share, but we’re committed to doing things the right way, even when the outcome isn’t what we wanted.

Months of planning… countless phone calls… importing frozen semen from Germany… tracking every progesterone test…

Today, it all came together.

Janna’s progesterone reached 21.33, placing her in the ideal breeding window. Today she was successfully artificially inseminated with frozen semen from Rudi vom Hause Neubrand III.

This wasn’t luck.

This was timing, preparation, and an incredible team working together to give this breeding the best possible chance of success.

To reach this point…

🇧🇦 Janna Haus of Lazic was imported from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

🇩🇪 Frozen semen from Rudi vom Hause Neubrand III was imported from Germany.

🩺 Every progesterone test was carefully monitored until the timing was just right.

Today, two incredible bloodlines came together.

If Mother Nature does her part, this will become the very first foundation litter in Vom Heater Haus history.

We’re so confident in this pairing that we plan to retain one male and one female from this litter to help build the future of our breeding program for years to come.

Now comes the hardest part…

Waiting.

Over the next several weeks we’ll be watching closely, hoping for good news, and sharing every milestone of the journey with you.

🐾 Vom Heater Haus Update 🐾

A lot has happened over the last few weeks, and we wanted to bring everyone up to speed.

Janna Haus of Lazic has officially arrived from Bosnia and Herzegovina and is settling into her new home here in Illinois. We are also working through her AKC registration process.

Our planned breeding remains:

🇩🇪 Rudi vom Hause Neubrand III (IGP3)

The frozen semen has been shipped from Germany and is now being coordinated through our veterinary and reproduction teams.

Janna has begun showing signs of her heat cycle, and progesterone testing is underway. Her progesterone has already moved from 0.6 to 1.9, and we are working closely with our veterinarian and reproduction specialists as we monitor her progress.

If all goes according to plan, the artificial insemination will take place in Wisconsin in the coming weeks.

This breeding represents a significant investment in imported genetics, international transportation, frozen semen importation, veterinary care, reproductive services, registration, training, and preparation. By the time these puppies arrive, we expect to have invested approximately $20,000 into building the foundation of our program.

🐾 Foundation Puppies

We plan to retain one male and one female from this litter.

These puppies are not simply being produced for sale.

This breeding, along with our planned future breeding to Malte vom Weiltal, was carefully selected to build the foundation of the Vom Heater Haus breeding program for years to come.

We believe strongly enough in these pairings that we intend to keep and develop puppies from them ourselves.

We are currently adding secure credit card processing to our website to make future deposits and payments easier for our puppy families.

Once pregnancy is confirmed, we will publish complete details regarding deposits, reservations, puppy placement, registration options, and what each puppy will go home with.

This has never been about producing puppies.

It has always been about building something worth being proud of.

The future of Vom Heater Haus starts with these foundation litters.

🔥 A Major Milestone for Vom Heater Haus

The journey toward our first litter has taken another step forward.

Over the last few days, we have begun seeing signs that Janna may be entering her heat cycle. We are now working closely with our veterinarian and reproduction specialists as we begin progesterone testing and continue preparations for her planned breeding to Rudi vom Hause Neubrand III.

The frozen semen has already been shipped from Germany and we are awaiting confirmation of its arrival.

This is why we have shared every step of the process from the beginning. Building a breeding program isn’t just about puppies. It’s about planning, health testing, genetics, veterinary care, training, and making the right decisions every step of the way.

The next several weeks should be exciting.

She is starting to look a little better after her trip half way around the world. Eating good. Got a good combing. She is starting to look like the princess she is and not an old kennel dog.

Very humbled to have such a beautiful girl with such amazing personality. Her first meeting with our little cheweenie and she laid down in front of him to show she wasn’t a threat. Honestly we were so worried but we didn’t have nothing to fear in the end.

She has extreme confidence in her interactions with other dogs, but steps??? Now steps is another monster all together. She doesn’t like them.

Don’t they have steps in Serbia lol???
