I talked to Tiffany and unfortunately the vet vet said that Sir had a pre existing heart arrhythmia. I know I let everyone know Ludo has a mild heart murmur (mild enough that OFA would have still allowed breeding, but of course we chose to not) but with both the murmur and the arrhythmia, I recommend all talk to their vet about their baby. I don’t want another to lose their pup for something that was treatable. I hope the remaining babies are doing well, and get many years more.

It is with a hurt heart I have to announce the loss of Sir. Sir was a hero, who save his humans life before he was even a year old. Last evening he bloated, and was rushed to the vet to have surgery, but under anesthesia he had a heart attack, and didn’t make it. Rest in peace good boy, I’m so proud of you.

Letting everyone know, today’s is a sad day. Winston passed today due to a severe blockage of his bladder leading to kidney failure. He was rushed to the vet, but sadly by the time he showed signs of pain, damage was already done. He is now flying high with his sisters Deet and Shilo.

Happy birthday babies!!! Today is one year, and we have had some highs and lows. Would love for everyone to post pictures, names (birth and forever please!) plus current height and weight if known. Also is you want to share great things about the pup, or concerns you have (including health issues) please do so! The more we learn, the better we know how to help each other! Ok, I’m still stressing, and May word this wrong, so ask if you need more info.
Penny is in surgery right now, she has bloated, and although on x-ray there was no sign of torsion (stomach flipping) when they stuck the tube down to let the gas out, they couldn’t get enough to release. She will be tacked during this surgery. This is the big fear with Danes. You can follow all the rules, and bloat is still a possibility. Tacking only prevents flipping, bloat is still a threat. We responded quickly and gave her gas x and rushed her in. I’m fairly sure she will survive, but prayers are of course welcome. I’ll update as soon as I hear from the vet.

PS, Amanda is with her, and I know they will fight with all they have to help her come home.

UPDATE: out of surgery and doing well!

Ok puppy owners, one of Penny’s pups has been confirmed to have bilateral hip dysphasia. Anyone else see any signs of issues? I would recommend having all pups checked at next apt, even if you’re not seeing any signs.
