This is one of the things I love most about breeding for GENETIC temperament.

These babies have never been โ€œworked withโ€, handled daily, or conditioned to interact with people. In fact, the only time they have been handled before this video was for routine nest checks which last a few seconds and moving between their cage and a carrier for cage cleaning days.

Theyโ€™re simply genetically inclined to be confident and curious little rats.

Good temperament isnโ€™t taught and it certainly should not be conditioned into them by overhandling.

One of the very first things I look at on newborn/day old pinkies is their whiskers.

Before fur comes in, those tiny whiskers can already tell me a lot about what Iโ€™m looking at.

Curly whiskers can indicate rex.
Crinkled/broken looking whiskers can indicate Harley.
Whiskers that appear blown back or swept backward toward their eyes can indicate Lux.

So while most people see a pile of little pink gummy worms, Iโ€™m already sitting here trying to figure out whoโ€™s who and whatโ€™s what. ๐Ÿ˜‚

After taking 1937373929 photos of each animal, I still have to crop, collage and watermark each one individually.

Picked up bunnies from ๐๐„๐‘๐‘๐˜๐“๐€๐ˆ๐‹ ๐…๐€๐‘๐Œ๐’ and Blue Sapphire Lops but had a dang flat tire on the way home. Thankfully the Walmart shop was able to get us in and out in less than 30 minutes but the girls didnโ€™t seem to mind. Sora (from Berrytail) was just humming the lollipop song to herself and going on an adventure in her mind! ๐Ÿ˜‚
