“Kiwi is an 18 month old long haired German Shepherd who joined our family at 8 weeks old.

We started puppy training with Dog Training Elite at just 10 weeks old, then worked our way up from there to service work! Kiwi passed her public access testing at 14 months old and is currently working on scent training for elopement tracking as a form of autism support. Kiwi will also work on seizure-detection as well!

Kiwi is the sweetest, most well-mannered, properly trained dog I have ever owned. When we attend group class on Saturday mornings, some of the clients have thought I was a trainer! That is the result of me doing my “homework” for at least 15 minutes a day!”

Good news and bad news.

Let’s start with the bad: Kyrie’s identical twin, Kodi, had his first seizure last Friday. It was tonic-clonic and we have met with neurology who has scheduled an EEG and MRI.

Now for the good: Kodi hasn’t had anymore seizure activity since then. But I was able to preserve the clothes he was wearing so we can start seizure detection training with Kiwi.

Because of this, I have changed this page to be focused more on her training and support for both boys. I am beyond grateful for the blessing of dogs and the incredible work they can do.

Literally got the CUTEST shot of Kyrie and Kiwi!!

I’m overdue for an update but Kyrie had a 24-hour EEG on April 8th to monitor for seizure activity. His readings came back CLEAR! Our first ever EEG with zero activity! 🥹😭 I am so grateful he’s doing so well!

Because Kyrie hasn’t had any epileptic activity, we have switched over to scent work with Kiwi. This way, if Kyrie or Kodi, or any other kid in our area goes missing, Kiwi will have the skills to track down, and locate them! 💜
