Bloat, also known as Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV), is a serious condition that can affect various breeds, especially large and deep-chested breeds like Shiloh Shepherds. It happens when a dog's stomach fills with gas, food, or fluid, causing it to expand. This can be life-threatening if not treated quickly.
Signs to Watch For:
• Restlessness and pacing
• Swollen abdomen
• Unproductive vomiting
• Excessive drooling
• Pale gums
• Rapid breathing or signs of distress
If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your vet immediately! Time is of the essense with bloat, and it's better to be safe than sorry! ❤️
