City of Pauls Valley Animal Welfare

City of Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Welcome to City of Pauls Valley Animal Welfare! Together, we can make a difference!

We're dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals, promoting responsible pet ownership, and enforcing local laws for the safety of pets and residents. From picking up stray animals, reuniting lost pets with owners, to finding new homes for unwanted pets, our employees are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our animals. While the Shelter will never replace a good home with a caring family, we

do our best to provide a safe place where animals will find food, water and a friendly face with a caring hand. Animal Control Officers enforce the Animal Code found in the Revised Ordinances of the City of Pauls Valley. These ordinances include requirements for rabies vaccinations, city licensing and sterilization requirements.

🚨 Nine Puppies Dumped at Pauls Valley Dog Park 🚨

Earlier today, nine puppies were abandoned inside the Pauls Valley Dog Park. At the time, the temperature was 93° with a heat index of 99°, and the park has no water access. These puppies were left at serious risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Thanks to quick response from Pauls Valley Police Department and Pauls Valley Animal Welfare staff, they are now safe with Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society.

A witness described the individual responsible as:
• Female, middle-aged
• Reddish hair with blonde highlights
• Driving a white newer-model Chevy pickup (2022–2023 model)

If you recognize these puppies or have any information about this incident, please contact Pauls Valley Animal Welfare at 405-238-1303 or the Pauls Valley Police Department.

Justice for the Forgotten Dogs of Winter ❄️🐾

In January, our Animal Welfare team responded to the scene: multiple dogs were found chained in deep snow, without adequate shelter, food, or water. Freezing temperatures. No protection. Just survival.

Thanks to a joint response by our Animal Welfare Supervisor and the City of Pauls Valley Police Department, these animals were rescued and began their journey to safety.

Now, justice has followed.

On July 28, 2025, Everett Earvin Johnson of Pauls Valley entered a no contest plea to Felony Animal Cruelty (Garvin County Case No: CF-2025-00023). The court found him guilty, issuing a 3-year deferred sentence, $864 in fines and court costs, and 1 year of supervised probation through the District Attorney’s 991 program.

🙏 We want to thank our Animal Welfare Supervisor and the Pauls Valley Police Department for their thorough investigation and commitment to seeing these charges through.
