No Thank You, Shadow Isnāt Ready to Mingle ā¤ļø
With Jackie still receiving critical care at Ojai Raptor Center, many people have wondered about the subadult eagles that have been visiting Shadowās territory.
Some viewers have even given one of the visiting females the nickname āJolene.ā š
But based on recent observations, Shadow doesnāt appear interested in making friendsāor finding a replacement.
Multiple subadult eagles have been seen visiting the area, and Shadowās response has been pretty clear: āNo, thank you.ā
In one recent sighting, as soon as the visiting eagle arrived, Shadow flew off to another tree.
It almost looked like he was saying:
āIām good over here.ā šš¦
Shadow may technically be alone right now, but that doesnāt mean heās ready to mingle.
After everything Jackie and Shadow have sharedātheir territory, their nest, and years of raising a family togetherāitās beautiful to see Shadow continuing to focus on his home rather than showing interest in the younger visitors.
Of course, we canāt know exactly what Shadow is thinking or feeling. But his observed behavior certainly doesnāt look like heās welcoming a new mate.
So for nowā¦
Sorry, Jolene. Shadow says NO THANK YOU. šā¤ļø
And weāre still holding onto hope that Jackie will recover and one day return home to the territory she and Shadow built together.
