This is a perfect example of why I will never guarantee a haircut on a young inexperienced puppy.
Both puppies are the same age, it’s the first groom for both of them, but as you can see they have very different personalities.
The little westie wanted to kill the dryer, and was less then thrilled about the clippers. Very normal behavior for a pup that doesn’t understand what is happening. I moved the dryer away from him, and had it on less then half way to help reduce the stress, and I kept his face turned away from it, but he still thought it should die. lol typical terrier behavior, they are small but mighty.
The doodle pup handled everything with ease. Not much phased him about the groom so I was able to get him through his first haircut.
The next time the rolls may be reversed. The westie might surprise us and do just fine, while the doodle puppy struggles. It just depends on the day. What I do know is that I will never push a puppy through a service just because the owner wants me to. I will ALWAYS advocate for the best interest of your pup, and if that upsets you well…. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m sorry I guess?
