Even though I’m booked out for WEEKS, occasionally I get a no show or a last minute cancellation. Sometimes I’m unable to fill the spot from the waitlist. If that’s the case, please shoot me a message if you also want to be on that waitlist to get in sooner! I’m more often than not able to get you in!

UPDATE: no microchip, no leads on an owner.
Found dog near 5th & Pleasant in Park Rapids early this morning. No response on local pages. Seemed very lost. Have him at my place nearby until owner is found.

After the Guadalupe River subsided following the July 4 floods in Texas, a brown pitbull named Hulk returned to the ruins of his family’s riverside home, which had been partially swept away. He stationed himself on a broken floorboard, sniffing the air. A day later, still unmoved, he caught the attention of worried neighbors and friends who contacted Kerrville Pets Alive, a local no-kill shelter. The shelter’s vet team arrived and discovered Hulk was unharmed, steadfastly waiting for his missing family to come back.

Set out a shallow dish with pebbles for bees and butterflies.
Leave a shaded bowl for squirrels and birds.

We are very sorry about this inconvenience, at this time we are not accepting any more surrenders of dogs and cats, we will consider emergencies case by case but all of our kennel space is full at the moment. You can view all of our adoptable pets on our website at headwatersanimalshelter.org if you are considering a rescue! All of our dogs and cats would love new homes out of the shelter! Please help them find a new home, we have a lot of wonderful options. ❤

PAW PATROL: As our heat wave builds, please be cognizant of where you're walking with your furry friends. While air temperatures might only be in the 90s, both asphalt and concrete will be MUCH hotter, enough to burn your pups paws.
