💙 Meet Blue 💙
This 1 year old, 38-pound American Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) is bright, enthusiastic, and bursting with love. Blue was surrendered by his previous owner when she could no longer afford the fencing needed to contain this energetic boy. Now he’s looking for a family who appreciates the intelligence, heart, and drive that make Heelers such special companions.
As a true Blue Heeler, Blue is alert, loyal, people-oriented, and happiest when he has a purpose. He thrives with structure and consistency, responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, and loves being included in daily life. His medium-high energy means he enjoys activity and learning, but he also settles nicely once he’s had the chance to exercise both his body and mind. A home that can give him daily engagement—walks, play, training, and time with his people—will bring out his very best.
Blue is a very excited and affectionate boy who already knows basic commands and is eager to please. He adores other dogs, does well with cats, and loves children. Walks are one of his favorite things, and while he tends to pull at first, he’s learning quickly with redirection and patience. Like many young dogs, Blue is still growing into his manners and will need a family committed to continued training, routine, and positive guidance so he can develop into a well-adjusted adult.
Mealtimes are something he takes seriously, and he prefers to have his own space when eating so other dogs don’t crowd his bowl. Otherwise, he’s easygoing and joyful—especially when squeaky toys and treats are involved. He simply wants to be part of a family and included in their world.
Because Heelers are clever and athletic, Blue will do best in a home with a secure, sturdy fenced yard where he can safely run, play, and burn off energy. He is capable of jumping, so a higher fence is important for his safety. In the right home, Blue will truly shine—loyal, loving, and ready to be someone’s perfect adventure buddy.
