Suntree-Viera Pet Rescue SVPR is a non-profit organization that fosters cats and dogs for adoption. Appointments are set up at the Petco in Viera.

Suntree-Viera Pet Rescue (SVPR) has saved over 10,000 dogs and cats that were destined to die in Brevard County shelters. SVPR is an all-breed, no-kill pet rescue. We save dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens and we are dedicated to the animals under our care. SVPR does not have a shelter location and all animals are fostered out of the private homes of volunteers.

FYI. If you find a juvenile bird in distress. Please please do not just leave it in your yard to die! This little one was found and was told by a rescue due to bird flu just to leave it. We haven’t had any reported cases in our county that I know of. I don’t normally take in birds because of my work schedule I can’t properly care for them. But I couldn’t see anything just left on the ground. Well when they got here what was supposed to be a red bellied woodpecker turned into an endangered pileated woodpecker. It has meds and will rest in the incubator over night. Tomorrow I will take it to Florida Wildlife Hospital. I talked to them and they are accepting birds so if you find an injured one please take it to them. Thank you and please share so that people know they have an option

We have had 2 major medical kitties and we need your help! Otto was found in a busy intersection recently hit by a car. Luckily, our director found him and brought him to a vet. Otto had a broken femur, pelvis, and tail. The cost to repair locally was more than the rescue could spend. Thankfully to our friend, Mona at PAWS, she found a surgeon down south that did the repair for a fraction of the cost. Otto's bill is currently $1400, and he will still need postop x-rays. And for those of you that remember Edna, she is having her eye surgery this Thursday. She has no vision out of the left eye, and it is best if removed. We were able to raise $900 out of the $1300 estimate. Donations can be made on this site, or sent to PO Box 410123, Melbourne, FL 32941-0123.
