Jan 24th, Friday - Novice/Intermediate level dogs
In this seminar participants will work on ideas for keeping their dog’s motivated and happy. Attention will be given to smoothing out the handler’s crosses and keeping connection with the dog while performing them. Techniques of crosses will be discussed and practiced. Handling obstacle discrimination will be discussed and practiced.
Handlers should bring a few toys for rewarding. Handlers should bring treats pre-cut into the size you will feed, please no breaking up treats over the arena surface. Handlers should also make sure they have their treats secure, so they do not drop out while running. You are encouraged to not feed your dog the morning of the seminar.
Jan 25th/26th, Saturday/Sunday - Master level dogs
Empowering Your Crosses
On the first day of this two day seminar, focus will be on smoothing out the implementation of the front cross, rear cross and blind cross. Short sequences will be used for concentrated practice of each cross to improve timing and technique. Also, some back-side sending practice may be included. On day two, the teams will work full course work using the various crosses in a diverse number of situations. On both days attention will be given to proactive cues to create smooth clear signals and transitions.
