3 runs. Big difference. 🐾💪

Watching dogs grow in confidence and endurance is one of the best parts of Speedy Paws.

This is my very first client, and the improvement from run 1 to run 3 has already been incredible to see. Better focus, more confidence, and learning that the slatmill can be fun too!

Every dog moves at their own pace, and building that confidence the right way is always the goal.

Proud of this guy and excited to keep watching him improve. 💙🐶

Spring has officially arrived in Michigan, and that means tick season is here too. 🐾

Ticks are more than just a nuisance—they can carry serious diseases, including Lyme disease and anaplasmosis. Since dogs love exploring grassy areas, wooded trails, and parks, it's important to check them thoroughly after outdoor adventures.

Here are a few places ticks commonly hide:
• Around the ears
• Under the collar
• Between the toes
• Around the tail
• In the armpits and groin area

Using a veterinarian-recommended flea and tick preventative is one of the best ways to protect your dog. Early detection is key, so regular tick checks should become part of your routine.

At Speedy Paws, your dog's health and safety always come first. A little prevention goes a long way toward keeping your best friend happy, healthy, and ready for their next adventure.

Stay safe out there, and happy spring! 💙🐶

Speedy Paws LLC FAQs 🐾

Thinking about booking a run? Here are some of the most common questions!

How old does my dog need to be?
For safety, puppies should generally be at least 12 months old before participating in slatmill sessions. Large and giant breeds may need to wait a bit longer, as their growth plates close later.

When should my dog eat before or after a run?
To help reduce the risk of stomach upset or bloat, avoid feeding a full meal within one hour before or after exercise.

Can my dog drink water after a run?
Absolutely! Offer small amounts of water right away, then allow them to drink more once they've had a few minutes to cool down.

Will my dog get the zoomies afterward?
Possibly! Some dogs are energized immediately after a run, while others are ready for a long nap. Both are completely normal.

How long will my dog sleep after a session?
Many dogs are pleasantly tired and may rest for several hours, though every dog is different.

What vaccinations are required?
All dogs must be current on their Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations before their first session.

What if my dog is reactive or doesn't like other dogs?
That's perfectly okay! Speedy Paws LLC specializes in one-on-one exercise in a secure, controlled environment.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes, but the actual running time may vary depending on your dog's age, fitness level, experience, and comfort. Safety always comes first.

What should I bring to my dog's first appointment?
Just your dog, a properly fitted collar or harness, and proof of current vaccinations.

How often should my dog run?
That depends on your dog's age, breed, energy level, and fitness goals. We'll work together to determine the best schedule.

Are there breed restrictions?
At this time, Speedy Paws LLC is not accepting brachycephalic breeds, including Pugs, Bulldogs, and other breeds with similar facial structures. These dogs can face increased respiratory and heat-related risks during exercise, and I want to ensure every dog's safety. As Speedy Paws continues to grow and I gain more experience, this policy may be revisited in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

Keeping every dog safe at Speedy Paws 🐾💙

At Speedy Paws, your dog’s safety and health always come first. That’s why up-to-date vaccinations are required for all dogs participating in runs.

Even in a controlled and structured environment, dogs can still be exposed to things like:
• Canine flu
• Parvo
• Kennel cough
• Lyme disease

Vaccines help protect not only your dog, but every dog I work with. It’s all about creating a safe, responsible space where dogs can run, exercise, and thrive with peace of mind.

If your dog isn’t up to date — or you’re looking for a more affordable option — this is a great opportunity 👇

The Shiawassee Humane Society is sharing a low-cost vaccine clinic hosted by All About Animals Rescue.

📍 Owosso Clinic:
🗓 May 2nd
📍 Hodge Glass Service
⏰ 10am – 2pm
