UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND!!!🙏

‼️ URGENT ‼️

We have been posting pleas for Diesel for over a month now, and still have not received any offers for a foster home. The shelter informed us last week that Stitch (the boxer that came to the shelter with Diesel) has been pulled by another rescue. Diesel is sadly still waiting in a very overcrowded shelter for somebody to help him. The shelter reports that he is getting very depressed and is in urgent need of help. Diesel needs more time playing with dogs and being with people than the shelter environment can provide, and he has now been there for three months. Diesel loves being with people and getting belly rubs. He was seized from his original home due to neglect. Diesel is estimated to be around 3 years of age. He does great with submissive dogs - he was very playful with a female dog during his dog test at the shelter. He is unknown with cats or young children. If you can foster Diesel, please contact your coordinator or submit an application. He is currently located in Virginia.

Lydia, one year seven months, stopped by the shelter for a pawdicure and some extra snuggles. Lydia must be the only animal in her home, but she is wonderful with people. She is house trained, crate trained, a great cuddle partner, loves to play fetch and would love a family where she has a chance to get in the water often. We know many homes are not looking for a one and only but we also know that there are so many Boxer fanatics out there, and there are likely more than a few with no other pets at this time. ‼️‼️We are still searching for a foster home for Diesel.‼️‼️

He was seized from his previous home due to neglect. Diesel is estimated to be around 3 years old. He knows basic commands such as sit and down. Diesel is a very affectionate boy who will readily roll over for belly rubs. Our volunteer recently went to meet Diesel and indicated that he just wanted to be in her lap and he curled up on the bench behind her. Diesel walks well on leash. When dog tested at the shelter, Diesel was very playful with a medium sized female dog, but was a little more dominant with another male. He is unknown with cats or children. Diesel has been in the shelter for three months now and is beginning to get stressed in this environment. We would love to take him into rescue, but need a committed foster home. If you are able to foster Diesel - contact your coordinator or submit an application to get approved.

‼️‼️We still have not received any applications to foster Brandy, a 7 year old female boxer.‼️‼️

Due to the situation that occurred in her previous home, we are specifically looking for a foster home in the Maryland or northern Virginia area. Transport can be coordinated from the shelter to her foster placement. Brandy was surrendered to the shelter with her daughter, Blair, after a bad fight with a beagle in their household. We were not provided with any details from her previous owner, but would like to find an only dog home at this time. Shelter staff report that Brandy has not displayed any negative reactions to other dogs she has been walked by at the shelter. Brandy is a complete wiggle-butt with people and is in urgent need of a foster placement so we can get her out of the overcrowded shelter environment.
